For the past 75 years, the doppler brand has been synonymous with competence, innovation, and quality. The expansion of the company that has been family-run since 1946 is now successfully being continued in the fourth generation. Today, doppler is an internationally operating production and trading company with subsidiaries in Europe and Asia as well as customers in over 40 countries.

The two most important global brands for umbrellas and parasols, doppler and Knirps, are part of the company group. The headquarters are located in Braunau, Austria. The new doppler factory built in 1999 is regarded as Europe's largest umbrella factory. In total, doppler has around 360 employees, of which 200 are based at its main factory in Austria.

The time between its establishment and the present spans more than seven decades. A lot has changed over time – the products, the markets, and the people. Dedication to the highest quality and the strongest commitment to customers and employees remains the same.

THE HISTORY

1946: Foundation of the umbrella factory "Ernst Doppler" in Braunau, Austria

1962: Production is expanded to include garden umbrellas

1971: Foundation of the Bavarian company " doppler H. Würflingsdobler GmbH" in Simbach am Inn

1989: Foundation of a purchasing and sales office in Taiwan

1990: Extension of the product range to include garden furniture

1991: Foundation of the subsidiary "doppler CZ" in the Czech Republic for the production of cushions and seat covers

1992: Foundation of the subsidiary "doppler SK" in Slovakia

1999: New construction and amalgamation of several production facilities and storage areas at the Braunau site, Austria

2004: Foundation of a production of large aluminium garden umbrellas in Slovakia

2005: Purchase of the "Knirps" brand with the Swiss partner Strotz

2010: Plant expansion/company extension in Braunau, Austria

2012: Market launch of Knirps parasols

2020: Expansion/company extension in Braunau, Austria
